Early Wednesday, a strong earthquake struck off the coast of Nicaragua.
The quake had a magnitude of 6.5 and struck roughly 50 miles southwest of Jiquilillo, according to the USGS.
According to the USGS, the quake was around 20 miles deep.
There were no reports of serious casualties or property damage right away. There was no tsunami warning issued.
Other Central American countries that felt the quake were Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.
Jiquilillo is a beach tourist town located about 90 miles northwest of Managua in northern Nicaragua.
