Amazon Studios has signed Eddie Murphy to a film contract.
Eddie Murphy, the actor, writer, and comedian, has signed a new film deal with Amazon Studios.
Murphy, 60, signed a three-picture and first-look agreement with Amazon Studios that would see him star in three films and develop new original films with the potential to star, according to Deadline.
In a statement, Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke stated, “Eddie is a legend both in front of and behind the camera.” “He regularly provides fascinating, original stories and characters to audiences all over the world with indisputable comedy and dramatic genius. We’re ecstatic to be a part of continuing the tradition and to officially welcome Eddie to the Amazon family.”
The news comes after Murphy’s film Coming 2 America, a sequel to his 1988 feature Coming to America, was released on Amazon Prime Video. During its first weekend in March, the film was the most watched on Amazon Prime.
