Sony Music Entertainment is producing a documentary about Celine Dion.
Celine Dion is endorsing a new Sony Music Entertainment documentary film about her life and career, which is now in production.
Irene Taylor, a filmmaker, is the director. Taylor is best known for the Peabody and Sundance award-winning documentary Hear and Now, as well as the Oscar-nominated documentary short The Final Inch.
The project is being produced by Sony Music Entertainment’s Premium Content Division in collaboration with Sony Music Entertainment Canada and Vermilion Films.
Over the course of her 40-year career, Dion has sold over 250 million records globally. The vocalist is recognized for hits including Titanic’s “My Heart Will Go On,” “Because You Loved Me,” “The Power of Love,” “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now,” and others.
“I’ve always been an open book with my fans, and I believe that Irene will be able to show everyone a side of me that they haven’t seen before, thanks to her compassion and careful inventiveness. In a statement, Dion added, “I know she’ll convey my experience in the most honest and emotional way possible.”
“Going on this journey with a famous singer like Celine Dion is an unbelievable chance for me as a filmmaker,” Taylor said in a statement. Having access to her life and work will allow me to build a complex portrayal of an iconic, worldwide personality, which I am excited to share with the world.”
Dion will return to Las Vegas on November 5 for a new residency at Resorts World.
