A milk run by a North Carolina father results in a $200,000 lottery prize.

According to a North Carolina father, his children eating the last of the milk in the home resulted in him winning a $200,000 lottery jackpot.

Alexandro Acevedo of Monroe informed officials from the North Carolina Education Lottery that he was caring for his three girls when they ran out of milk on Saturday.

Acevedo said he went to the Food Lion shop in Monroe for an emergency milk run, and while there, he added a $10 Bigger Spin scratch-off ticket to his purchase.

The father said he scratched the ticket off in the parking lot and was taken aback when the $200,000 jackpot was revealed.

Acevedo replied, “It doesn’t feel real.” “I’m not a huge fan of yelling. I’m normally a calm person. But I’m going insane inside!”

The award money will be used to improve his home, pay bills, and take his girls to Walt Disney World, according to the father.

He replied, “This is big news — like having another baby.”
