In HBO’s ‘The Idol,’ Lily-Rose Depp joins The Weeknd.
Lily-Rose Depp has been added to the cast of HBO’s The Idol.
According to Deadline, the 22-year-old model and actress will play with The Weeknd in the new series from Euphoria creator Sam Levinson.
The Idol was co-created by The Weeknd and Levinson with Reza Fahim. The show revolves around a female pop artist who begins a relationship with a Los Angeles nightclub owner who is also the leader of a secret cult.
According to Variety, Depp and The Weeknd will portray a female pop singer and a club owner, respectively.
The series will be written and executive produced by The Weeknd, Levinson, and Fahim, with Joseph Epstein serving as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.
Depp is best known for her modeling work with Chanel. She is the daughter of actor Johnny Depp and singer and model Vanessa Paradis. Tusk, Yoga Hosers, and A Faithful Man are among her film credits.
The Weeknd is an American singer and actor who previously produced and performed in an episode of the animated series American Dad set for release in 2020. In the 2019 film Uncut Gems, he portrays a version of himself.
