Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is one of the leading candidates for NFL MVP after a 3-0 start and some absolutely stunning football. But keep it a secret from him. Murray was asked how he felt about being an early MVP candidate while speaking to the media this week.
The Cardinals quarterback responded that he is focused on winning and that accolades may follow if they do. “It’s a long season,” Murray said, “and I was raised and taught that if you win as a team, the individual accolades will follow.” Murray scored five touchdowns against the Tennessee Titans in Week 1. He then went on to score four touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings and complete 82 percent of his passes against the Jacksonville Jaguars in a win.
He has a rushing touchdown in each of his first three games and seven passing touchdowns while averaging over 335 yards per game.

Kyler Murray was named Rookie of the Year after going No. 1 overall and flourishing in Kliff Kingsbury’s system in 2019. In 2020, he went on to make the Pro Bowl, but his 8-8 record kept him out of the playoffs. Currently, however, he has the Cardinals in prime position for a playoff berth – possibly even the NFC West title. Since 2015, Arizona has failed to make the playoffs or even have a winning season. They had a top-two offense that year, which they still have now. Will Kyler Murray be named NFL MVP?
