A report earlier this month linked former Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn, who is now the Lions offensive coordinator, to the USC job. USC boosters had identified Lynn as a candidate and had already made contact, according to the report. During a press conference on Thursday, reporters finally got the chance to question Lynn about the USC rumors. According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the Lions offensive coordinator stated that no one from USC has contacted him.
In addition, he failed to directly respond to whether or not he is interested in the job. “Lions OC Anthony Lynn said no one from USC has reached out to him about that job and his entire focus right now is on his current role with the Lions,” Birkett tweeted. “He didn’t say whether he’d consider taking the job after the season. ”
