Wendy Williams’ return to talk shows has been postponed due to “medical problems.”
Wendy Williams’ talk show, The Wendy Williams Show, has been postponed.
The Season 30 debut has been postponed to Oct. 18 owing to Williams’ persistent health difficulties, producers announced Thursday on the Wendy Williams Show official Instagram account.
“On October 4, Wendy will not be back with fresh shows. She has been and continues to be under medical supervision, and she is still unable to return to work,” according to the article. “On October 18, we hope to return with new shows.”
Wendy Williams (@wendyshow) shared a post.
Williams, 57, tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19 on Sept. 15, according to the producers. According to the statement released on Thursday, Williams is no longer infected with the virus.
“Her breakout covid case is no longer an issue, and she has tested negative,” producers explained, “but she is still coping with some chronic medical issues.”
Season 30 was supposed to premiere on September 20. Williams tested positive for COVID-19, thus it was originally pushed back to Oct. 4.
Williams has remained tight-lipped about her health problems.
In February 2018, Williams was diagnosed with Graves disease, an immune system illness that affects the thyroid. Following her diagnosis, she took a break from The Wendy Williams Show, which she returned to in mid-2020.
