Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was perfect in September heading into the 2021 season. In September, the former MVP had a 10-0 record, with 32 touchdowns and zero interceptions in those ten games.
The Chiefs have a 1-2 record in September, which hasn’t been kind to Mahomes. They are currently in last place in the AFC West.
Mahomes has been sloppy with the ball on occasion, tossing a costly interception against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2 and a back-breaking pick against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3. Despite his slow start to the season, Mahomes does not appear discouraged in the least. He believes the Chiefs will have an opportunity to show what they’re made of now that the spotlight is on them. “It’s exciting..”
Mahomes said, via ProFootball , “Now you know you have to go.” “We’ve come up against a brick wall..” So, what are we going to do? I believe you will elicit the best performance from everyone. Because you know it’s time to leave, you’ll get the best out of everyone in this locker room. Every game is important if you want to do what we want to do, and I’m looking forward to seeing how these guys, including myself, respond. ”
“We’ve put our back against the wall. So how are we going to respond?

Regardless of how inconsistent Mahomes and the Chiefs have been through three weeks, no one should count them out.
Kansas City will face Philadelphia on the road this Sunday in a game that has been dubbed a “must-win.” The game begins at 1 p.m. CBS at 8:00 p.m. ET.
