Scott Speedman is back as a series regular on ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’
Scott Speedman will be back on Grey’s Anatomy.
In the Season 18 premiere on Thursday, the 46-year-old actor stunned fans by resuming his role as Dr. Nick Marsh.
Speedman previously featured in a Season 14 episode in which his kidney was saved by Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo). Meredith (Pompeo) visited Minnesota in the Season 18 opener, where she met Nick (Speedman).
Meredith is now unmarried and revealed her relationship status with Nick, causing fans to speculate about a possible romance in the upcoming season.

Speedman will be a series regular in Season 18, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Along with an interview with Speedman and showrunner Krista Vernoff, Deadline confirmed the news. The season’s “romantic comedy” aspect, according to Speedman, reminded him of his program Felicity.
“It reminded me a little bit of that, and in a way, that’s a pretty great suit to put back on, you know? So that piqued my interest,” he explained.
Fans will have to wait and see whether Nick and Meredith will stay in Minnesota or return to Seattle, according to Vernoff.
“I believe it is not without its challenges. He works full-time in Minnesota, but he’s also a traveling surgeon, according to Vernoff. “He has his whole life ahead of him, and she has her whole life ahead of her, and we’ll see what happens.”
Grey’s Anatomy airs on ABC on Thursdays.
Speedman will also appear in the third season of Netflix’s You.
