The Buccaneers have ruled out two key players for Sunday’s game against the Patriots.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have officially ruled out two players — one on each side of the ball — for Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots. According to Bucs insider Rick Stroud, head coach Bruce Arians told reporters on Friday that running back Giovani Bernard and cornerback Jamel Dean will not play this weekend. Bernard suffered a minor MCL sprain during the Week 3 loss to the Los Angeles Rams this past weekend. As a result, he won’t be able to attend all three practices this week. Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones II will handle backfield reps now that the veteran RB is out. Dean also suffered a knee injury on Sunday, costing him

. While the problem isn’t serious, the Buccaneers will most likely be cautious about his return because they already have several holes at cornerback. With Dean out and starting corner Sean Murphy-Bunting already out with an elbow dislocation in Week 1, the Bucs will be forced to use veteran backups Ross Cockrell and Dee Delaney, as well as newly signed Richard Sherman, opposite Carlton Davis this week. The Buccaneers’ marquee matchup against the Patriots will begin at 8:20 p.m. in primetime. Sunday night at 8:00 p.m. ET
