The fish and pole of a 7-year-old angler are stolen by an alligator.
When a 7-year-old Florida boy hooked a bass while fishing with his father, an alligator jumped out of the water and seized the fish, he lost his catch – and his pole.
Sean McMahon shared a video of what happened as he and his son, Dawson, were fishing behind their Palm Coast house on Facebook.
McMahon can be seen in the video encouraging his son as he fights a monster bass on the end of his line.
Dawson adds in the video, “He’s a fighter.”
The youngster succeeds in dragging the fish onto land, but an alligator leaps from the water and takes the fish in its jaws.
Dawson throws down his pole and rushes from the gator, who swims back into the water with the fish and pole.
“Dawson got a fish tonight when an alligator appeared out of nowhere, ate the bass, and ripped his pole into the water,” McMahon said on Facebook.
