The Patriots have made their official roster decision on running back James White.

The New England Patriots not only lost to the New Orleans Saints last Sunday, but they also lost versatile running back James White to a serious hip injury. When White went down after a six-yard gain, he suffered a hip subluxation and had to be carted off the field. Unfortunately, he will miss the rest of the 2021 season due to his injury.

Because White will be out for the rest of the season, the Patriots have decided to place him on injured reserve. This gives them the option of activating wide receiver N’Keal Harry for Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for

There’s no sugarcoating the Patriots’ situation. It will be difficult to replace White, especially since he is the team’s best pass catcher out of the backfield.

Patriots safety Devin McCourty explained how important White is to the team as a player and leader earlier this week. “James is the quiet leader..”

“Obviously, as a team, not having a guy like that hurts,” McCourty said, via ESPN . “He’d had a great start, and you hate to see the long road to recovery that comes with being injured, but he’s one of the toughest people I’ve ever met.” I’m confident he’ll recover.

The Patriots might ask second-year running back J.J. Taylor to take over White’s role in the future. If he can make an impact this season, only time will tell.
