Before the Alabama game, Ole Miss is said to have lost a key wide receiver.

Ole Miss will be shorthanded on offense against Alabama on Saturday afternoon. Jonathan Mingo, a junior wide receiver, will be unable to play due to an injury, according to reports. WCBI-TV was the first to report that Mingo would not play against the Crimson Tide. He is said to have broken his foot.

Through three games, Mingo has 15 receptions for 290 yards and three touchdowns, making him an important part of Ole Miss’ offense. This weekend, his absence will undoubtedly affect the Rebels’ passing game. To make matters worse, Mingo is expected to miss more than just today’s game against Alabama. He’s expected to be out indefinitely at this point. With Mingo out for the foreseeable future, the Rebels will need some of their younger players to step up on offense.

Dontario Drummond and Braylon Sanders may face increased workloads as a result of this.

Drummond has 339 yards and four touchdowns as Ole Miss’ top wide receiver this season. It’ll be interesting to see if he can maintain that level of production without Mingo in the lineup. In today’s game against the Crimson Tide, college football fans should expect Rebels quarterback Matt Corral to carry the offense on his shoulders. The game between Alabama and Ole Miss will begin at 3:30 p.m. with a

kickoff. CBS at 8:00 p.m. ET. Nokia News
