The Los Angeles Chargers’ defense was dealt a devastating blow just two days before their Week 4 matchup. Linebacker Kenneth Murray of the Chargers suffered a leg injury during Saturday’s practice session. The Athletic’s Daniel Popper was the first to report the news. “During the open period of practice, Chargers LB Kenneth Murray went down grabbing at his lower left leg,” Popper said. “Trainers arrived in a hurry… Before being carted off the field, he was down for several minutes. ”
Because the situation is still unfolding, we don’t know the full extent of Murray’s injury. The fact that he was carted off the field, however, is a bad sign.

Murray, a former first-round pick out of Oklahoma, has had a busy first three weeks of the 2021 season. Murray has 19 tackles for the Chargers in three games (
). He had 107 total tackles, five tackles for loss, three pass defenses, and a sack as a rookie. While it’s far too early to say whether Murray will miss the rest of the season, it seems safe to assume he’ll be out of Monday night’s game against the Raiders. If Murray is out for Week 4, the Chargers will have to rely on Nick Niemann and Kyzir White to fill in at linebacker. Nokia News
