Watch: The Most “Embarrassing” Play Of The Day Comes From South Carolina.

The South Carolina Gamecocks have had their share of embarrassing plays in recent seasons, but this one against Troy today might just take the cake.

While running the ball back for what should have been a scoop-and-score touchdown to put the game out of reach, South Carolina safety Jahmar Brown fumbled the ball out of the back of the endzone.

As strange as it may seem, this type of blunder has happened a lot in college football history. But that doesn’t make it any less embarrassing.

Not only was the play’s conclusion difficult to watch, but the entire sequence was a disaster. On a strip sack, South Carolina forced a fumble, picked up the ball, fumbled it again, picked it up again, and then fumbled it at the goal line.

With the Gamecocks leading 20-14 at the time of the play, a touchdown would have given them a much more comfortable lead heading into the final quarter. Fortunately for Brown, his team was able to hold on for a 23-14 win despite his critical error.

South Carolina now has a record of 3-2 on the season. Nokia News
