The Buffalo Bills have signed a former wide receiver and former Green Bay Packers offensive lineman, according to reports.
Although the NFL trade deadline passed without the Buffalo Bills making any trades, general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott were not idle.
The Buffalo Bills introduced two new players to their practice squad on Tuesday, one of whom will be a familiar face to Buffalo fans. While Bills wide receiver Tanner Gentry has been placed on the COVID-19 list, Austin Proehl, 26, who was chosen by Buffalo in 2018, appears to be filling in for him.

Proehl, who was taken in the seventh round out of North Carolina, has spent the last few years bouncing around the league. He spent one day with the Tennessee Titans practice squad and the XFL’s Seattle Dragons before joining with the Los Angeles Rams practice team after accumulating 1,265 yards on 91 receptions in 28 NCAA games.

The San Francisco 49ers signed the 5-foot-10, 185-pound receiver to a reserve/future contract in January 2021, but he was waived on May 17. The Los Angeles Chargers scooped him up the next day and signed him to their practice squad in September.
Jacob Capra, a former Green Bay Packers offensive lineman, was also signed by the Bills.

Jacob Capra, 23, who went undrafted out of San Diego State before signing with the Green Bay Packers in May 2021, will join Proehl on the Bills practice squad.
According to Sports Illustrated, the 6-foot-5, 300-pound guard ran the 40 in 5.29 seconds and bench-pressed 225 pounds 27 times on his Pro Day.
