The creator of “When Calls the Heart” criticizes fans for being divisive.

The revelation that the “When Calls the Heart” spinoff, “When Hope Calls,” would be moving to a new network for season 2 and bringing Lori Loughlin back to the “Hearties” universe divided Hallmark fans. In a series of social media posts, Brian Bird, who is executive producing both series, chastised fans for being contentious.

Fans can “end their divisiveness at any hour of any day,” he said.

In the past year, fans have been divided on both “When Calls the Heart” and “When Hope Calls.” First, while watching “When Calls the Heart,” fans were clearly divided into two camps: Team Lucas and Team Nathan, and when Elizabeth eventually made her decision at the end of season 8, a segment of the fan base threatened to abandon the show. Bird (who is also a co-creator of both series) revealed why Elizabeth made the decision she did at the time. He acknowledged that the decision was riskier, but that it was the best option for the show’s future.

Some fans were also disappointed when it was announced that “When Hope Calls” would be transferring from Hallmark to GAC Family and that Lori Loughlin would be joining the cast.

On Twitter, Bird finally addressed both series’ fans.

None of us should ever choose to be powerless victims of circumstances beyond our control. Just my opinion, IMHO. https://t.co/zfyNyp0QNC

None of us should ever choose to be powerless victims of circumstances beyond our control. “It’s just my opinion.”

He composed his post in response to a fan who suggested that “When Calls the Heart” should finish with Jack rising from the grave as the greatest approach to end “fanbase division.”

It’s not the first time he’s chastised supporters who are upset over Elizabeth’s plot. In April of this year, Nokia News – Quick Recap
