The reaction to Henry Ruggs’ news has caused a backlash for Derek Carr’s brother.

On Tuesday, the Las Vegas Raiders received tragic news when the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that standout wide receiver Henry Ruggs was engaged in an automobile accident that resulted in the death of an unidentified person. Ruggs was “inebriated,” according to the police, and has been charged with a DUI resulting in death. He will now have to go through a lengthy legal procedure, but the Raiders must continue to play football.

The squad is still reeling from the loss of head coach Jon Gruden last month and will now face even more turmoil. Derek Carr, the Raiders’ starting quarterback, will be challenged with keeping the team focused through this tragedy. After the Ruggs news surfaced, David Carr, the quarterback’s brother, proceeded to Twitter to say that his brother would not only be the league’s MVP, but arguably the most valuable player in a season ever “when” the Raiders make the Super Bowl.

Many people thought Carr’s tweet was disrespectful because someone had died, so he promptly deleted it.

Probably in the top ten worst tweets of all time… David Carr tweets this after someone has died… Son, like when he was in the NFL picture, missed the purpose. twitter.com/Q7unH430vo

Carr did delete the tweet, but it didn’t stop many people from criticizing him for it. Many of the tweets aimed against Carr are NSFW.

Yikes…

For this, David Carr is completely out of bounds. Derek isn’t ready to be promoted right now. What a disgraceful lack of humanity. https://t.co/e7nviXkDW1

David Carr is the worst of them all. Someone has died, and he is discussing his brother’s prize hopes. pic.twitter.com/F6ThwobN5Q

Was David Carr serious when he said that?
