Baker Mayfield, the Browns’ quarterback, sends a strong message to Odell Beckham Jr.

Baker Mayfield was taken off guard by his Cleveland Browns teammate Odell Beckham Jr.’s trade deadline turmoil, but he was only concerned with winning going ahead.

On Wednesday, Mayfield addressed the media about a video posted by Beckham’s father, Odell Beckham Sr., detailing all of the instances the Browns quarterback failed to send the ball to his son.

“Why aren’t you sending the ball to a really good player with whom I’ve put in a lot of time and effort?” “I’ll say it’s an opinionated statement,” Mayfield told reporters. “I’ve had face-to-face conversations with his father previously. And the video, as well as the aims and feelings behind it, surprised me. If I stated differently, I’d be lying.”

“Obviously, he wants his kid to thrive,” Mayfield continued, “and I want Odell to succeed as well.”

Mayfield stated that the situation had startled him rather than harmed him. Although their synergy on the field has been lacking, he and Beckham have enjoyed a solid off-field friendship. The former first-round pick would like an apology, but is only asking for the bare minimum at this time. Beckham hasn’t contacted Mayfield in the last 24 hours.

Mayfield wishes there was an open line of communication.

“Any kind of communication,” Mayfield added, “would go a long way.” “I’m ready to accomplish anything.” If he returns, we’ll work through it and do whatever is necessary. I can set aside my ego and pride in order to win since that is all I care about.”
