WATCH: Blake Shelton Saved the Best for Last…

The Knockout Rounds on “The Voice” are officially finished, and coach Blake Shelton saved his one and only steal for the last possible minute.

With her performance of Natalie Cole’s “Inseparable,” Jershika Maple of Team Legend (formerly of Team Kelly before losing to Jeremy Rosado in the Battle Rounds) wowed the coaches. As she sang, Legend, Kelly Clarkson, and Ariana Grande were all on their feet. With an incredibly soulful version of Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey,” Paris Winningham then revealed a whole new side of himself.

“I can’t actually sit down because it’s disrespectful,” Clarkson stated after both singers had performed. Legend was “screwed,” she said, because he had to choose between Jershika and Paris. She and Grande both expressed disappointment that they didn’t have any more steals to employ. Unfortunately, Shelton was the only one who had saved his steal for a time like this.

Take a look at both of these great performances below:

Choosing between Jershika and Paris was one of the most difficult selections of the season. “Can’t we just tweak the show’s rules once?” Grande cracked a joke. Legend praised Paris for following mega mentor Ed Sheeran’s advise to simplify the song’s structure and focus on his voice. “A masterclass in using the varied components of your voice,” he said of Jershika’s performance.

Despite his admiration for both performances, Legend declared Jershika the knockout winner. Shelton, true to form, waited until Paris had hugged Legend and thanked the coaches for the opportunity before hitting the steal button. Paris Winningham is now a member of Team Blake.

Shelton commented, “It’s perfect that Paris ended up on my team because he sang a country song.”
