Ex-DWTS contestant reveals details about their ‘five-week contract.’

In the past, there have been reports that celebrities had contracts to stay on ABC’s dancing reality competition show “Dancing With the Stars,” however the actual celebrities who were purportedly connected with these contracts have not come forward.

Anne Heche, who competed on season 29 of “Dancing With the Stars,” now says she had a five-week contract to remain on the show.

Heche discussed her experience on the show on an episode of Jason Tartick’s podcast, “Trading Secrets.” Fans thought that Heche was referring to a contract that stated she would be protected for weeks on the show in a Reddit discussion.

According to the thread, the “contract was changed and she lost out on thousands of dollars that her original 5-week contract promised,” which is similar to what Heche says in the podcast, though she appears to be referring to the way she was paid on the show rather than any type of contract to keep her safe from elimination.

It’s worth noting that competition shows that rely on viewer votes can’t be rigged legally when it comes to those votes, so contracts for contestants to be “saved” from elimination would almost certainly have to be based on who the judges choose to save from the bottom two and their scoring rather than the number of votes.

By being voted out, Heche lost money.

“That was one of the most shocking things to me,” she continued. People watched me get irritated, which appeared to be an accident; no one knew what was going on, and there was a little… Nokia News – Quick Recap
