Only one Heat player appears to be a fan of the team’s new mashup jersey.

While the first glance at the Miami Heat’s 2021-22 NBA City Edition jersey surfaced in May, the team’s Miami Mashup uniforms were unveiled on November 1, and the squad will wear them against the Boston Celtics on Thursday night.

The Heat’s complete squad will wear “the first uniform in professional sports to include distinct, personalised number styles across each player’s jersey,” as Miami describes the new appearance, and the FTX Arena’s court will also mirror the “Mixtape” idea.

Only one Heat player, guard Tyler Herro, has spoken about his thoughts on the new City Edition jerseys since their formal introduction.

“This even surpasses Vice,” remarked Jennifer Alvarez, the Heat’s vice president of creative and digital marketing, according to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald. “Which is incredibly exciting for us since we know Tyler and how important fashion is to him. Knowing we’re hitting his design aesthetic and having his approval was fantastic.”

While other members of the squad may approve of the Miami Mashup uniforms, they have yet to publicly express their feelings, and silence sometimes speaks volumes.
