The Eagles are at the top of the list of ‘Cap-Eligible’ teams for Odell Beckham Jr.
Cleveland’s Odell Beckham problem is reaching a breaking point. After his father’s Instagram post went viral, the dissatisfied receiver is lobbying the Browns to dismiss him.
Beckham’s feud with Baker Mayfield appears to have put an end to any reconciliation talks. The Browns would have to cut the three-time Pro Bowler because he can’t be dealt because the deadline passed on November 2. All 31 teams (with the exception of Cleveland) would be able to claim him on waivers if they agreed to pick up the remaining $8 million on his deal.
The Eagles are one of nine teams in the running to sign Beckham, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. They have $20.9 million in cap space, which is second only to the $27.8 million held by the Jacksonville Jaguars. The biggest stumbling barrier would be a team claiming Beckham solely to block him. According to Pro Football Talk, the New York Giants did it out of spite.
According to NFLPA data, nine NFL teams have at least $8 million in cap room left on Beckham’s salary.
Jaguars ($27.8 million)
Eagles $20.9 million
Broncos $13.4 million
Seahawks $12.6 million
Panthers $11.1 million
Chargers $10.3 million
Steelers $10.2 million
$9.3 million in Washington
Bengals ($8.5 million)

Returning to the Eagles. Is it wise to sign a diva wide receiver who has only appeared in 13 games in the last two seasons? His surgically reconstructed knee does not appear to be completely healthy. In addition, Beckham hasn’t surpassed 1,000 yards in a season since 2019. This season, he has 17 catches for 232 yards.
Beckham told reporters on September 23 via Scott Petrak, “It’s tough to stay in it when it’s been year after year after year.” “Especially when you started off so fast and had all of Jerry Rice’s objectives and all of these things, and then you were slowly crushed by injury.” It’s just difficult to be psychologically and spiritually strong through it all.”
