Top Deadline Trades Lions Should Have Made: Deal for Big Wideouts

Even though it was a quiet trade deadline across the NFL, especially for the Detroit Lions, after the rumor mill had been churning for a few weeks, it doesn’t mean there weren’t some transactions that should have happened.

This type of transaction made much too much sense for a desperate team like Detroit.

If Beckham is released, the Lions could be able to sign him and bring him to town without having to give up anything. Otherwise, a middle-round pick would have made sense to take a chance on Beckham’s talent now and in the future.

Wideout Darius Slayton is acquired by the Lions in exchange for a fifth-round pick.
