After being traded to a conference contender, an ex-Brooklyn Nets star gets candid.

With a 10-4 record and second place in the Eastern Conference, it’s safe to say that the Brooklyn Nets had one of the best offseasons of any team this summer.

The Nets’ early-season acquisitions of DeAndre Bembry, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Patty Mills have been crucial.

However, if the Nets had a do-over in the 2021 free agency period, one might expect them to be much more hesitant to let star guard Spencer Dinwiddie walk.

Spencer Dinwiddie Talks About His Nets Experience

The Nets’ main goal heading into the 2021 offseason was to extend long-term contracts to their All-Star trio of Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and Kevin Durant.

Because of this, the Nets agreed to let Dinwiddie walk and sign with the Washington Wizards in a sign-and-trade deal.

Dinwiddie, on the other hand, bears no grudges against his former teammates and is grateful for the time he spent in Brooklyn.

“I’d probably categorize it as growth, you know what I mean? I feel like that’s really where my career started; like, the two years in Detroit, I learned a lot about the NBA and being a professional, but I didn’t get a chance to grow as a player and play much, know what I mean? Like, Brooklyn was where I PLAYED and I GROWED AS A PLAYER,” Dinwiddie told Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson of Bally Sports while

“So that’s why I’d categorize it as that, and I’m super grateful, and I always root for those guys whenever they play anyone if it’s not the Wizards, and you know, I pay my respects to the talent that they gathered — my friend Joe [Harris] is still there, and you know, I wish them the best.”

@SDinwiddie_25 says he grew as a player with the Brooklyn Nets, and he tells @BallySports that he and @joetsai1999 are still friends, and he still cheers for the Nets (except when they play the Wizards).
