Dan Campbell provides an important update on the Lions’ kicker position.
In a tie against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Detroit Lions’ kicking game wasn’t great, and it could be argued that the team didn’t win because of their kicker.
Due to an injury to Austin Seibert, Ryan Santoso was promoted to the roster, and the special teams didn’t have a particularly good day.
Santoso missed an extra point and a game-winning field goal, both of which could have decided the game.
With that in mind, the Lions are on the lookout for a new kicker for Week 11.

Campbell was asked about the kicking situation during a press conference on Monday, November 15, and said the team would be looking at other players this week.
When asked about his thoughts on the kicker situation, Campbell was candid. “We’re gonna bring some guys in and work them out and see who the best man for the job is,” he said.
Campbell didn’t blame Santoso for the snap or the hold in either case, both of which he confirmed were proper.
“The procedure, the snap, and the hold on both were all excellent.
No, they did an excellent job with the procedure,” Campbell stated.

In terms of the situation, Campbell’s brevity may say everything.
The coach was clearly upset about the missed kicks, and he understands how much it cost his team.
As a result, it’s possible that a new player will arrive in town this week.
What Kickers Could the Lions Sign as Free Agents?
There are several options available to the Lions at kicker right now.
Eddy Pineiro, Chris Blewitt, Josh Lambo, and Brett Maher are all free agents, so the team could go with one of them.
If left unprotected, Detroit could look for a younger option from a team’s practice squad, such as Jake Verity in Baltimore.
Given his knowledge, Pineiro could be the best option for Detroit.
