Former Cowboys and Jaguars pass rusher joins Bills practice squad
The Buffalo Bills reportedly made a move on Monday to potentially alleviate the absence of starting defensive tackle Star Lotulelei, who is still on the COVID-19 reserve list.
DT Eli Ankou will be signed to the practice squad, according to a league source.
Ankou is a big body option with Star Lotulelei on the Covid list.

Ankou was with Buffalo for parts of training camp this summer, according to Bills beat and sideline reporter Sal Capaccio.
On June 22, the Bills signed the 27-year-old, but on August 15, he was released.
Ankou went undrafted in 2017 after a four-year career at UCLA, but was signed on May 12 by the Houston Texans.
In five seasons, Ankou has appeared in games with four different teams.
In September 2017, the Jacksonville Jaguars claimed Ankou off waivers from the Houston Texans, and he spent his first two seasons in the NFL with the Jaguars.
Ankou had 15 tackles, two quarterback hits, 1.5 sacks, and one tackle for a loss in nine games during his rookie season, which are still career highs.
In 2018, the Canadian made only two appearances and four tackles.
Jacksonville cut Ankou just before the start of the 2019 season, but he was later added to their practice squad before being signed by the Cleveland Browns in October.
That season, Ankou appeared in nine games for the Browns, starting two of them, and recording seven tackles.
The Indianapolis Colts claimed the tackle off waivers from the Browns in September 2020, but he was inactive for the first five weeks of the season before being waived.
Ankou briefly returned to the Texans after the Colts claimed him off waivers, but he was dealt to the Dallas Cowboys in early November.
Ankou had five tackles in seven games with the Cowboys last season.
Ankou was picked up by the Atlanta Falcons in May 2021 after being released by the Cowboys in the off-season. He was then picked up by the Bills, then cut, then signed by the Falcons again, before being released again.
