After his team’s win over the Chargers, Vikings’ Eric Kendricks sends a message to the NFL.
The Minnesota Vikings faced the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10 with five starters out.
There will be no Danielle Hunter, Michael Pierce, Anthony Barr, Patrick Peterson, or Harrison Smith on the team.
It’s no problem.
Eric Kendricks was the lifeblood of a shaky Vikings defense, recording a sack on the second defensive snap and intercepting quarterback Justin Herbert in the first half, halting two drives and crippling the Chargers offense for the majority of the Vikings’ 27-20 win in Los Angeles.
After the game, coach Mike Zimmer said, “The interception by Kendricks was big-time.”
“I thought it was a great deal.”
Kendricks patted himself on the back after a fantastic homecoming for the former UCLA Bruin.
In a postgame press conference, he said, “I consider myself one of the best linebackers in this league.”
“Coming to California to play is always a special experience for me.”
Clearly, this is my residence.
Shoot, I wasn’t raised in LA, but I grew up here, in college, at UCLA. It holds a special place in my heart, and every time I return, I have to put on a show.”

Replacements are boosted by Kendricks.
The Chargers’ offense, which was ranked 10th in yards per game (384.9) entering Week 10, was held to just 253 yards by the Vikings defense, which was missing arguably their top five players besides Kendricks.
The defense wasn’t deterred by the absence of “some real ballers,” according to Kendricks.
He explained, “We have guys who have been waiting for an opportunity.”
“In this league, you never know when it’ll come, and you have to take advantage of it.”
We obviously prepare to win.
We’re bringing in some really smart guys, and they’re up for the challenge.
Out in the field, their communication is flawless.
They’re not fazed in the least, and they enjoy fighting.”
