Donley spent nine years with Chip Ganassi Racing prior to joining GMS Racing.

He worked as an engineer on the No. 1 submarine.

Kyle Larson, Matt Kenseth, and Ross Chastain were part of the 42 team.

He also won two Cup Series championships (2009 and 2010) while working for Hendrick Motorsports as an undercar mechanic for drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmie Johnson.

During a test session, Dillon and Donley will collaborate.

Donley and Dillon will now travel to Charlotte Motor Speedway after the announcement was made public.

They’ll participate in a two-day Next Gen test around the oval with other Cup Series teams.

Dillon has raced at Charlotte Motor Speedway before in the No.

Chevrolet Camaro from 1994.

His most recent two-day test session, on the other hand, was held at the Roval.

He drove laps around the track, comparing his car to that of Kaz Grala, Ryan Blaney, Corey LaJoie, and William Byron, among others.

They’ll be able to learn a lot about drafting, tire wear, and other factors that will play a big part in the Daytona 500 and the rest of the schedule.

Several teams have made announcements about crew chiefs.

GMS Racing isn’t the only team providing information about the season ahead.

RFK Racing, 23XI Racing, and Richard Petty Motorsports have all made announcements about driver and crew chief pairings.

Erik Jones will collaborate with Dave Elenz during the 2022 Cup Series season, according to RPM.
