‘Something Special,’ says Eagles’ All-Pro.

During his decade-long tenure with the Philadelphia Eagles, Fletcher Cox has been a part of some memorable squads.

People’s ears perk up when he says this year’s team – the one that was supposed to be rebuilding – has “a chance to do something special.”

That nugget came from the Super Bowl champion tackle while discussing the Eagles’ thriving new offense.

After committing to running the football, they’ve won two of their last three games.

Cox and his defensive teammates were able to relax on the bench as a result of this.

Over the last three weeks, Philadelphia has dominated time of possession (32:07), which ranks ninth in the NFL.

“A big smile on our face when the offense wins time of possession,” Cox told reporters.

“Obviously, we’re getting the ball back to them, and they’re making good use of their time.”

Time of possession is important, especially on defense, because if we get a three-and-out and immediately put our offense back on the field while their defense is only coming off the field for three or four minute drives, it can catch up to you.”

Before rattling off how much the ground game has revived the offense, Fletcher Cox said this year’s (hashtag)Eagles team has a “chance to do something special.”

Over the last three weeks, they have had 32:07 of possession time per game.

The Eagles will look to continue their winning streak against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, November 21.

One of the most important aspects of winning will be how they prepare for Taysom Hill, the gadget-play specialist who is recovering from a foot injury.

In Week 10, he played quarterback, wide receiver, and running back, totaling 21 offensive snaps.

“He’s a hard runner,” Cox said, “and people always bounce off of him.”

“Until you try to hit him, you have no idea how powerful he is.”

We have to rally to the football and get him on the ground because he has a strong lower body and can break tackles.”

Jameis Winston, Wil Lutz, Michael Thomas, and Andrus Peat are all out for the season.
