According to reports, the Sixers have a list of 30 must-have players for a Ben Simmons trade.

It turns out that the Philadelphia 76ers’ front office has a list, dubbed the “Simmons list,” floating around.

According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, the list includes 30 NBA players, and any one of them would be enough to persuade the Sixers to finally grant Simmons’ wish for a trade, which he expressed to the team this summer.

A deal will be struck if the Sixers can reclaim one of the names on the list in exchange for Simmons.

It’s as simple as that, according to Amick’s article.

The 30 names on the list, however, include the majority of the league’s best players, and while none are currently available in a Simmons swap—otherwise, a deal would have already been made—that could change.

Amick wrote the following:

According to a source familiar with the list, there are about 30 players who would satisfy the Sixers in a Simmons trade, with an internal belief that a good number of them — say, five to ten — could become available in the next year or two.

While this may appear to be a long list, keep in mind that it represents roughly 6% of the league and roughly equals the number of All-Stars chosen each season.

More than anything else, the timeline’s framing speaks volumes about the Sixers’ insistence on taking a long-term approach.

“This is like a multi-year thing,” a source tells Amick.

Simmons is viewed differently by the Sixers and the rest of the NBA.

Most Sixers fans, who have been fed up with Simmons’ antics for weeks, will be disappointed by this news.

The prospect of this continuing for another 52 weeks—or, God help us, 104 weeks—doesn’t seem appealing.

The 76ers have a list of at least 30 players who would satisfy them in a trade for Ben Simmons, according to @sam_amick.

It is expected that a significant number of them will become available in the next year or two.

However, the Sixers have clearly established themselves in this position.

Simmons, who was ranked No. 1 in the world at the time, is only 25 years old.

By any measure, the No. 1 pick in the 2016 NBA draft is a top prize in the league.

He has the ability to…
