Giannis Antetokounmpo Could Leave Bucks, According to Lakers Rumors
As LeBron James approaches the end of his career, the Los Angeles Lakers are focused on winning right now.
In December, the superstar will turn 37, and in three of his four years with the team, he has suffered serious injuries.
The Lakers’ future is uncertain outside of Anthony Davis, who is only 28 years old and should be around for a long time.
They’ll have to find a superstar to take LeBron’s place at some point.
The team should have options, but it’s unlikely to happen through a trade anytime soon.
In recent years, the team has given up the majority of its tradeable assets in order to acquire Davis and Russell Westbrook.
The Lakers will almost certainly have to rely on free agency to find a superstar in the future.
Fortunately, the team may be able to sign arguably the best player in the NBA in a few years.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, the two-time league MVP and NBA Finals MVP last season, is committed to the Milwaukee Bucks for the time being, but he may have just opened the door for a future move.
Giannis Antetokounmpo told GQ’s Zach Baron that he isn’t tied down to one place.
Giannis told Baron, “One challenge was to bring a championship here, which we did.”
“It was extremely difficult, but we managed to do it.”
It’s extremely difficult.
I adore a good challenge.
What’s the next challenge? It might not be right here.”
He wasn’t finished with him just yet.
“For the time being, my family and I have chosen to remain in this city that we all love and that has taken care of us,” Giannis said.
“That might change in two years.”
I’m being completely open and honest with you.
I’m a straight shooter who always tells it like it is.
This city is one of my favorites.
This community is one of my favorites.
I’d like to assist as much as possible.”
Obviously, Giannis isn’t looking to leave Milwaukee just yet, but his remarks are noteworthy in that he stated that it was a possibility.
