At the current Commonwealth Games 2022, Indian grappler Vinesh Phogat took home the gold medal in the Women’s Freestyle 53 kg Nordic division.

On Saturday at Coventry Arena Wrestling Mat B, she triumphed over Chamodya Keshani Maduravalage Don of Sri Lanka.

Phogat triumphed by a score of 4-0 via fall in the gold medal contest.

She won the second gold of the day for India at the CWG in two minutes and 24 seconds.

Phogat dominated the first period and prevented her opponent from scoring.

The Indian wrestler pinned and rolled her opponent out of the ring to take a 4-0 lead in the opening frame.

In this game, Phogat played well.

She was able to hold her ground during the final three minutes and keep her rival at bay, winning the gold medal.

The wrestler from Sri Lanka couldn’t compete with the Indian.

In her women’s freestyle 53 kg category – Nordic round matchup earlier on Saturday at the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022, Phogat defeated Samantha Stewart of Canada to get her campaign for the games off to a strong start.

There were only 36 seconds in Phogat’s match.

She won the fight 2-0 by falling.

Stewart was quickly overthrown by the Indian and was unable to last even a minute in the mat.

Pooja Gehlot of India won the bronze medal in the Women’s Freestyle 50 kg division earlier in the day.

At the Coventry Arena Wrestling Mat B on Saturday, she prevailed over Scottish wrestler Christine Lemofack Letchidjio.

Ravi Kumar Dahiya, on the other hand, took home the gold medal in the Men’s Freestyle 57kg division of the currently taking place Commonwealth Games 2022.

At the CWG 2022, Dahiya won India’s tenth gold medal.
