Sunbreak, the first major update in Monster Hunter Rise, will be shown after that.

The fantastic Monster Hunter Rise game, available for the Switch and PC, is “as good as video games can get,” according to Eurogamer, and its Sunbreak expansion may be even better.

The idea of more is therefore very welcome, and when the recently announced livestream of Sunbreak airs the following week, we’ll soon find out exactly what’s in store for the game’s first significant post-launch update.

The upcoming digital event for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak will be hosted by producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and game director Yoshitake Suzuki. It will start on Twitch on August 9th at 3pm BST/7am PDT.

With the Seething Bazelguese and Lucent Nargacuga (from Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, respectively) both confirmed as new monster additions to the line-up, as well as the Forlorn Arena to be added as a new locale, Capcom has already given fans a taste of what to expect in August’s Title Update 1.

Though Capcom hinted at “several other monsters” in Title Update 1—including rare species monsters and special species monsters—in its previously disclosed roadmap, there were still a number of glaring holes. It is almost certain that Tuesday’s event will fill in those gaps.

A release date for Title Update 1 is certain, new DLC cosmetic additions seem likely, and we might learn a little bit more about what Title Update 2, which is expected to arrive sometime this “fall,” will include from the presentation.

It’s well worth your time to move to Sunbreak if you haven’t already.

When the expansion was released in June, Martin Robinson of Eurogamer, who had already fallen in love with the base game, praised the additions, saying, “Sunbreak is going to be another brutal Monster Hunter expansion, but I’m happy to find there’s enough balance in there for me to approach it with excitement rather than trepidation.”
