Chelsea Pensioners treat David Beckham to a meal of pie, mash, and jellied eels.

After promising to return for the traditional Cockney meal, David Beckham shared a pie, mash, and jellied eels meal with some Chelsea Pensioners.

David can be seen posing with a pint and sitting down for a meal with residents of London’s Royal Hospital Chelsea in photos posted to the 46-year-old footballer’s Facebook page last month.

After promising Chelsea Pensioner Ted Heath last year that he would return to share the End End dish, David kept his word, saying it was ‘always such a privilege being in their company.’

The sportsman has long been a fan of pie, mash, and jellied eels, and frequently visits Tony’s Pie andamp; Mash shop in Waltham Abbey, which is just a short drive from his birthplace of Leytonstone.

It’s no surprise that David was dressed to the nines in a black suit and tie when he sat down for the meal and a chat with the Pensioners.

He had visited the property the previous year as part of his poppy campaign, and he returned last month, enjoying their hospitality this time.

‘Last year I promised Ted from the Royal Hospital Chelsea that I would visit them again for pie, mash, and jellied eels,’ he wrote on his Facebook page.

‘It was wonderful to see some of the wonderful Chelsea Pensioners I met last year supporting the Poppy Appeal once more.’

‘Being in their company and hearing their incredible stories is always such a privilege.’

It comes after David was caught standing on his tiptoes next to son Romeo, and he hilariously avoided any height comparisons by crouched down in a snap with his boys.

The footballer is seen bending his knees while posing with sons Cruz, 16, Romeo, 19, and Brooklyn, 22, in an Instagram photo shared by his wife Victoria on Tuesday.

With his arms on one knee and his boys posing smartly behind him, David flashed a wide smile to the camera.

During David’s father Ted’s wedding to Hilary Meredith earlier this month, the photo and the previous family photo appear to have been taken at London’s Middle Temple.

It comes after David amused fans on Christmas Day when he was photographed standing on his tiptoes in a family photo.
