Farrah Abraham pays heartfelt tribute to Derek Underwood, the ‘love of my life,’ 13 years after his death.
After visiting the grave site of her daughter’s father, Derek Underwood, on the 13th anniversary of his death on Tuesday, Farrah Abraham wrote a heartfelt tribute to ‘the love of my life.’
In 2008, just before Abraham gave birth to their daughter Sophia, Underwood died in a car accident.
Derek died while filming Farrah’s stint on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant when she was only 17 years old and eight months pregnant.
‘I’m grateful to see “FATHER” on your headstone today, 13 years later,’ she wrote.
I’m grateful for our family; I’ve gained a better understanding of the human condition, bereavement, trauma, loss, and depression.
‘Your life has made a huge difference in my life and the lives of so many others.’
‘In Living Memory of DEREK UNDERWOOD, My Life’s Love and FATHER to our incredible and blessed @sophialabraham, Peace and Love.’
Thank you, farewell, and always in my thoughts, giving me strength to make the world a better place.’
Farrah showed Derek’s grave, which was surrounded by a rainbow of flowers and Christmas ornaments.
‘Love You Dad (thank you to my family for making this all possible),’ Sophia captioned a photo on Instagram.
The girls sat at the cemetery together, under a picture-perfect sky, reflecting on Derek’s life.
Farrah’s life was first documented on 16 and Pregnant before being cast on Teen Mom.
She was fired after seven seasons of the hit reality show for returning to the adult entertainment industry.
Farrah will return to MTV soon for the Teen Mom Family Reunion, which will feature cast members from Teen Mom OG, Teen Mom 2, and Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant.
During the taping of the special, which was filmed at a resort and will air on January, Abraham confirmed that one particular conflict became physical.
