On the opening weekend of the new Premier League season, Liverpool came from behind to steal a point at Craven Cottage.

In London, Jurgen Klopp’s team left it late after Mo Salah saved a point for his team against the recently promoted team.

As he towered over Trent Alexander- Arnold and finished with a powerful header past Alisson Becker in the 39th minute, Serbian Aleksandar Mitrovic gave the game its first goal.

Darwin Nunez, a new star striker who made his Premier League debut off the bench, restored parity between the two teams.

After helping the team secure promotion last season and scoring twice to kick off the new campaign in the English top division, Mitrovic currently holds the record for the most goals scored in a single championship season.

After being brought down in the box by Virgil Van Dijk, he gave Fulham the lead for the second time in the game by converting the resulting penalty.

The hosts, however, were unable to stop Liverpool because Salah’s goal with 10 minutes remaining ensured that the points were shared in West London.

Following the high-scoring contest, Sportsmail’s James St Denis provides his player rankings below.
