Ryan Reynolds wishes Stan Lee, the late comic book legend, a happy birthday on his birthday.

Ryan Reynolds sends his warmest greetings to Stan Lee, the late comic book legend.

Although it has been more than three years since the death of comic book legend Stan Lee, many people, including Ryan Reynolds, are proving that he is far from forgotten.

On Tuesday afternoon, the 45-year-old actor shared a throwback photo from the set of one of the Deadpool films on his Instagram story.

In the throwback photo, Reynolds was dressed up as Lee, who was seen smiling up at him.

‘HBD @TheRealStanLee,’ the actor wrote in the caption.

Reynolds had previously shared the photo following Lee’s death, revealing it was taken on April 1, 2015, during his ‘first time meeting Stan Lee.’

While Lee’s contributions to comic books have made him a legend, including co-creating iconic characters such as Spider-Man, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Panther, and Daredevil, to name a few, he’s also well-known to modern audiences for his obligatory cameos in every recent Marvel film.

Despite not being a part of the Deadpool comics created by Rob Liefeld and Fabien Nicieza, Lee made a memorable cameo in the 2016 Deadpool film.

Lee appeared briefly as the MC at a strip club, introducing Chastity, a new dancer who took the stage.

He also made a cameo in the 2018 sequel Deadpool 2, but only in the form of a large painting of his face on a building.

Since it was released after his death in November 2018, the PG-13 version of the sequel, dubbed Once Upon a Deadpool, included RIP on the graffiti art.

Reynolds wasn’t the only celebrity to pay tribute to Lee on his birthday; director Kevin Smith also did so with a special Instagram post.

With a heartfelt caption, the filmmaker shared a behind-the-scenes video from his 2016 film Yoga Hosers.

‘Today would have been the 99th birthday of a truly great one – the spectacular salesman who co-created the @Marvel heroes and stories that continue to shape pop culture long after he shuffled off the mortal coil.’

I miss you, man,’ Smith said of hero and friend @TheRealStanLee.

On his Instagram story, Mark Ruffalo, who plays Lee’s creation The Incredible Hulk in the Avengers films, posted a photo of Lee and wrote, “Thinking of Stan Lee today and everything he’s done for the Marvel family.”

‘Today is the day STAN LEE was born,’ Spawn creator Todd McFarlane added to a throwback photo on Twitter.

With the hashtags (hashtag)GOAT (hashtag)StanLee (hashtag)StanLeeForever and (hashtag)Legend,’ would have been 99 years old.
